Gang Xiao, Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Technology Officer

Professor Xiao is a Professor of Physics at Brown University and the founder of Micro Magnetics. He started Micro Magnetics in 1998 with the goal of commercializing technology developed in his lab at Brown. Dr. Xiao’s research interests are magnetism and magnetic materials, novel magnetic devices, spintronics, and nanotechnology. Professor Xiao has published over 200 papers in these areas in refereed journals.

Benaiah Schrag, Ph.D., Project Manager, Metrology Systems

Dr. Schrag received his Ph.D. in physics from Brown University in 2003. His research interests include magnetoresistive materials and devices, magnetic imaging, and magnetic metrology. Dr. Schrag has published several papers on magnetic tunnel junctions and scanning magnetoresistive microscopy.

Weifeng Shen, Ph.D., Project Manager, Sensors

Dr. Shen received his Ph.D. in physics from Brown University in 2007. He also holds M.S. degrees in Physics from Brown. His research interests include magnetic tunnel junctions, magnetic sensing, biomagnetics, and MEMS. Dr. Shen has published several papers on MTJs, MTJ-based sensors, and biomagnetic detection.

Matthew Carter, Senior Electrical Engineer

Mr. Carter received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 2003. His interests include precision analog circuitry and electrical noise.
