Gang Xiao, Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Xiao is a Professor of Physics and Engineering at Brown University and the Director of Brown’s Center for Nanoscience and Soft Matter. He started Micro Magnetics in 1998 with the goal of commercializing technology developed in his lab at Brown. Dr. Xiao’s research interests are magnetism and magnetic materials, novel magnetic devices, spintronics, and nanotechnology. Professor Xiao has published over 190 papers in these areas in scientific journals, and has 28 years of experience in R&D. He holds seven patents related to spintronics. Dr. Xiao's extensive industrial contacts and visibility in the field of spintronics have been great assets to the company. He is in charge of technology strategy and offers technical expertise in the development of company’s products. Roger Vandenberg, Business Strategy Mr. Vandenberg holds an MBA degree and has extensive management experience working in manufacturing businesses with sales between $10 and $500 million. He has been working with managers to develop and implement growth strategies, including identifying market opportunities, developing products, executing marketing and manufacturing plans. Mr. Vandenberg is also experienced in acquisition of businesses, having acquired 17 businesses for a total in excess of $630 million. He is experienced in initial public offerings and selling businesses to corporate buyers. He is serving on the Board of Directors of Micro Magnetics and two publicly-owned businesses. He has served as Chairman and acting CEO of several privately-owned manufacturing businesses. At Micro Magnetics, he is in charge of business strategy and partnerships.
