The sensor die features Micro Magnetics' low-noise SpinTJ sensor. The die is 0.89 mm square and 300 microns thick. The field sensitivity of the STJ-300 is 5 nT/Hz^0.5 at 1 Hz and better than 1 nT/Hz^0.5 at high frequencies. These values are 10,000 and 50,000 times smaller than the magnetic field of the Earth, respectively. The STJ-300 comes either in an open package (seen at left), so that the sensor can be approached (i.e. with magnetic particles or media), or in an enclosed package with an affixed ceramic lid, for environmental protection. This sensor is designed for seamless interface with micro Magnetics' D-801 signal conditioning board. This product is ideal for compassing and navigation and for biological and bio-medical applications.
